SD Dumper is open source and ships builds for macOS only today. Prefer building from source? Use the project repository linked from the site header or footer.
Common questions
- Is SD Dumper free / open source? Yes. The application is open source; you can inspect the code and build it yourself.
- What platforms are supported? macOS (see the download requirement on the site for the current minimum version). Other platforms are out of scope for now.
- What about the portable box? Coming soon. We are packing the SD Dumper workflow into a portable box for field use. Preorder will open soon — watch the home page for the announcement. Details and pricing are not public yet.
- Does SD Dumper upload my photos? No. Ingest is local-first. Media stays on volumes you control.
- I reformatted a card too early. Always verify the dump completed and spot-check files before erasing source media. We cannot recover what is no longer on the card.
